Membership

Mat Shark Jiu-Jitsu Membership Terms & Conditions

By signing up for a Mat Shark Jiu-Jitsu membership, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

Membership payments

  • Membership fees are paid in advance via Ezidebit.
  • Payments can be made weekly or fortnightly, depending on your chosen payment schedule.
  • Membership fees continue until your membership is cancelled in accordance with these terms.

Ezidebit fees

  • A once-off $6.50 Ezidebit setup fee applies when your membership is created.
  • An ongoing $1.50 transaction fee per weekly payment is charged by Ezidebit. This fee is retained by Ezidebit and is separate from your membership fee.

No lock-in contract

  • We don't believe in locking people into long-term contracts.
  • You can cancel your membership at any time, for any reason, by providing 30 days' written notice.

30-day cancellation notice

  • Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing (email or message is acceptable).
  • Your membership will remain active during the 30-day notice period.
  • Regular membership payments will continue during this period.
  • You're welcome to continue attending classes until your cancellation takes effect.

Public holidays

  • Mat Shark does not run its regular timetable on public holidays.
  • Membership fees are not reduced or refunded for public holidays, as pricing is based on annual membership rather than individual classes.

Missed classes

  • Membership fees secure your place as an ongoing member rather than payment for individual classes. Refunds, credits or extensions are generally not provided for missed classes due to holidays, work, illness or other personal commitments.

Failed payments

  • If a payment is declined, Ezidebit may apply their own dishonour fees.
  • Outstanding membership fees must be paid before continuing to train. Repeated failed payments may result in suspension or cancellation of your membership.

Membership changes

  • If you wish to change your membership type or payment frequency, simply contact us and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.

FIFO memberships

  • FIFO memberships are available for eligible members.
  • Pricing depends on your work roster or swing. Please speak with us to discuss the option that best suits your schedule.

Concession memberships

  • Discounted memberships are available for eligible Emergency Services personnel.
  • This includes (but is not limited to): Police, Fire & Rescue, Ambulance, Hospital staff, Correctional Services (Prisons), Defence personnel and other emergency response agencies.

Membership holds

  • Memberships may be placed on hold for extended injury, medical reasons or other exceptional circumstances, subject to approval. Please contact us before your next payment if you require a temporary hold.

Safety

  • Members participate in classes and training at their own risk. While every effort is made to provide a safe training environment, martial arts is a contact sport and injuries can occur.
  • Members agree to follow instructor directions, train respectfully, and help maintain a safe environment for everyone.

Changes to membership fees

  • From time to time, membership prices may be reviewed. Existing members will receive reasonable notice of any changes before they take effect.
